embrace2

By ilzxc on May 29, 2022 10:32 pm

reproduction of embrace from Week 6 (2022) on M8.
drums remain the original's recordings of analog rytm manipulated in chase bliss blooper. opening squeak still sampled.
everything else is wavsynth.

hey sorry you had a bummer week. from my side it has been pleasure.

the dissonant cymbalsplosion is DOPE. also holy shit wavsynth patch randomizer is an excellent idea. and holy shit that paranoid pad at 1:10 is even doper. this is so damn good.

This is amazing. Great reinterpretation of the original and I'm very intrigued by the wavsynth patch generator. What a cool idea.

Woah this is so cool, great idea to make random patch, i should try this idea out too

Very interesting sounds

Let them in, they've upgraded their gear

Embracing the random!

this remix sounds great. I love the experimental chaotic unpredictability. I remember embrace very well.

delectable texturez!

A nice blast of chaos with some really cool sounds and textures.

this is giving me robot dolphin short circuiting feels & i'm here for it - i feel like i need to feed it a nice little robot fish...

Said it once, say it again…. Dope af

Mostly happy you are showing up in my tag filter :]

Fantastic sounds, listening in the dark with headphones, feels like small robotic insects burrowing into your brain, but somehow in a good way!

ahhhh that was AMAZING

ilzxc do you have a magic zoo in your computer? the little details in your work feel so alive

Big fan, never know what to expect and loving every journey.

those are some menacing stabs, especially with the squiggly background, great stuff!

This is instantly dope !

That’s an eerie track. The constant hyperactive dolphins having a rap battle against a free jazz electronic drummer. Original, surprising, very cool.

I do hear the dolphinz around. Cool rhythms happening here. There's mystery in the sea. Nice to remix an older one, always fun.

I like how some (a lot) of the synth hits sounds like they're in a huge water tank or belly of an oil tanker.  Kind of adds a dark & spooky vibe. The very first sound of the track sounds to me like record buttons pressed on a cassette deck or a tone arm dropped on a turntable.

Wow those stabs are dark and aggressive. I love it! heart

Don't remember what I did but you're welcome!

Wow, the stab with the distortion feels like a guitar chord - sooooooo delicious.

/////time passes/////

Now listening to this for a second time after re-listening to embrace.  So the first 32 seconds are like:

"PREVIOUSLY, ON embrace"

and then it's like

"AND NOW THE DRAMATIC CONCLUSION"

the low bit rate + distortion elements REALLY set this apart from the first.  Great to keep the squeaks and the timings, but then flip the texture from fuzzy and moody to sharp and threatening.

Same song, different lyrics.

Looking forward to seeing you open for Amon Tobin and Autechre to celebrate your debut LP on Warp Records (um, can I get on the guestlist?)
